The Cyber Security course at the College of Human Resource Management (CHRM) is a collaborative effort with the Institute of Certified Safety and Security Professionals of Kenya (ICSSPK), an esteemed body for security professionals in Kenya. Developed in consultation with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education and CDACC, the course addresses crucial security gaps. Successful completion of the program leads to professional registration with ICSSPK.
Designed as an entry-level program, this course equips aspiring Cyber Security technicians with essential competencies. Students will learn computer repair and maintenance, application of cyber security laws and policies, computer networking, software application security, database security, cyber security system installation, risk assessment, security testing, and operation management
Cyber Security-Level 5 (Certificate) is run on a Competency Based Education Training (CBET) mode. Emphasis is on learners gaining competencies rather than theoretical grilling. Learners are assessed based on milestone achieved in the process of their training. The course assessment is done by trained industry assessors vetted by ICSSPK and CDACC/TVET.
The course takes a period of 1 year. Consisting of three terms each three months ,plus a three months industrial attachment
