Certified Human Resource Professional (RCHRP) – New Curriculum

Course Overview

This applies to new students registering with HRMPEB from 1st July 2022

The Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) course is designed to equip individuals with the competencies and knowledge required by human resource professionals for effective job performance in both the public and private sectors.

It reflects the employers’ demand for qualified personnel to manage the human resource function in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Overall Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) course, the learner should be able to:

  • Effectively plan, design, and manage key human resource functions within organizations such as recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and reward systems and performance appraisal
  • Contribute to employee performance management and organizational effectiveness and productivity
  • Design and formulate various HRM processes and policies
  • Diagnose personal and institutional challenges faced by employees and address them through coaching, mentoring, and counseling
  • Manage the human resource function within institutional, local, and international legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Utilize knowledge of accounting to monitor, evaluate and generate reports on the human resources of an organization for decision making
  • Utilize information technology to manage the human resource function in organizations
  • Support the organization to develop business and transformational strategies that consider the developing role of human resources in the global arena
  • Provide professional guidance and advice internally and externally on human resource management
  • Evaluate current issues, trends, practices, and processes in HRM and adapt appropriately
  • Generate evidence-based reports and information based on scientific research

Eligibility Requirements

Entry Qualifications
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C+ and above
  • A Diploma in Human Resource management from a recognized examining body
  • A bachelors degree from a recognized University
  • Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)

Registration with HRMPEB

Who are HRMPEB? – This is the body mandated to certify HR professionals in Kenya. Its functions include preparing syllabuses for HR examinations; making rules with respect to the examinations; issuing certificates to candidates who have satisfied examination requirements; and promoting recognition of its examinations locally and internationally.

The following are the steps to complete application with HRMPEB:

  • A dully filled Student registration form-observe all the instructions
  • A dully filled Exemption application form (For those applying for exemptions)- The paper codes and titles to be filled on the exemption form should be as per HRMPEB’s CHRP subject coding & naming.
  • Certified copies of certificates and their official transcripts
  •  Proof of payment for registration fees
  •  Official Passport photo -colour
  •  Copy of KCSE/O’ level certificate
  •  Copy of national i.d/Passport
  • Equation and Qualifications Letter(s) from Commission for University Education (C.U.E) in support of academic qualifications awarded by academic institutions outside Kenya.

It is important to note that

  • No application shall be Accepted/Processed without having met the above requirements
  •  All certificates MUST be accompanied with official academic transcripts
  • Provisional transcripts/Result Slips MUST be accompanied with official recommendation letter from respective institutions attesting course continuation
  •  Document certification should be done by either the issuing institution or Commissioner for Oaths/Advocate
  • Application for exemption(s) is optional Scan and email  your documents to registration@hrmpeb.or.ke
  • Wait for the Student approval Letter and Exemption award letter which will be sent to your personal email address.

Registration with CHRM

Who are we? CHRM is an institution accredited to offer CHRP, with campuses in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru. CHRP course is offered both online and physical classes. For more information kindly visit www.chrm.or.ke

The following are the steps to complete application with CHRM

  • A dully filled Student registration form-observe all the instructions given in the CHRM Application Form.
  • Student Approval Letter and Exemption Award Letter from HRMBEB (in step one clause vi.)
  • copies of certificates
  • Proof of payment for registration fees
  • 2 Official Passport photo -colored
  •  Copy of KCSE/O’ level certificate
  •  Copy of national i.d/Passport

Once all the items are in place kindly present them to our offices in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru

We will take you through our calendar of event for the semester to select the units not exempted for you to start classes as soon as possible
